Possibly: Using a probiotic or eating unpasteurized yogurt will help to keep your bowel flora more stable and reduce the risk of clostrid. Difficile infection.  It will have nothing to do with crohn's disease.

Bowel overgrowth: You can get bowel overgrowth  which in turn can cause poor absorption of sugars . This leads to excessive gas production.

C diff unlikely: Applying antibiotic to skin should not cause C diff infection. It may be worsening of Crohns.

The : The best thing to do would be to look up the phone number for the medical school closest to you, for example do an internet search for medical school and the closest major city, ask for their gastroenterology department, and ask the receptionist.  If she doesn't know, ask for a nurse in the office to tell you or to call you back.  They will know someone who can do it.  I am so sorry that your father has had such a difficult time with this, c. Difficile can be a horrible problem.

IBD, IBS: These are three totally different conditions.
Lupus (systemic  lupus erythematosus) is an autoimmune connective tissue disorder.
Ibd (inflammatory bowel disease, refers to ulcerative colitis, crohns disease, and indeterminate colitis)
ibs refers to syndromes of abdominal pain, and irregular bowel habits that occurs in the absence of other diseease not found on routine evaluation.

Culture: A stool culture will give the answer in about 48 hours.  If you are under treatment for crohn's, your gastroenterologist knows all about this.  The truth is that most food poisoning is self-limited though a major nuisance while you have it; the greatest concern is the e. Coli that cause hemolytic-uremic syndrome.

Crohn's is: A type of inflammatory bowel disease as is ulcerative colitis. These are the two most common and there is a spectrum of diseases between the two with characteristics of both. Check with a good gastroenterologist. Treatments can be variable.

Different diseases: These 2 conditions can be difficult to tell the difference between and pathology review of a biopsy  is often needed. Ulcerative colitis only affects the internal lining of the colon. Crohn's disease can affect any part of the intestinal tract from stomach to small bowel ; colon, and affects the full thickness of the bowel wall. Different medical treatments, different risk factors.

when they biopsy terminal illeum in regards to a crohn's diagnosis. what are pathologisy looking for to confirm diagnosis? and i'd you can't get diagnosed from pathology.. what else could it be?
