BMI 20 - 28: B"sd Ideal weight conventionaly assigned based on BMI.  There is more too it depending on your body shape and body composition.  Most important is your general health and things like menstrual cycle.  If not done, in addition to dietician, evaluation by an endcrinologist or other physicain as appropriate should be done. If pregnant: It may not be the right time to try to lose extra 10-15lbs. If not pregnant and BMI is above 25, will suggest evaluation by a Bariatrician. The Bariatrician after evaluating you may refer you to a dietitian,or may use an apetite supressor or fat absorption blocker or Belviq (lorcaserin) to aid in reaching your goal as he deem appropriate

low amount of any food with delayed absorption- fat &amp; fiber
Certain fruits &amp; vegetables need to be avoided.

Look under dietician, nutritionist, diabetes care, etc.

May need medical exa: m first! Need to see why you aren't gaining weight, or why you are losing weight? So more questions need to be asked on what's going on. Also, we need more medical history to help you out.You are in a part of the world that anything can be contributing further to this. Need to see how your overall health, immune system, thyroid, adrenals, and diet are doing first.Then target your goals 4 wt. gain.

had our 12 months check up and dr said baby is under weight and referred us to a dietician. what could cause this and what can one do to up the weight. ?

: Is your baby *losing* weight or just low on the weight growth curve?  Weight loss or little ones who are dropping growth percentiles (particularly 2 or more) is concerning and should be monitored closely.  If it's not that severe, ideas to make sure baby is getting enough include - offering whole milk and/or breast milk as the only drink options &amp; making sure baby has protein with all 3 meals.
