Sure, but cause?: "Plugging up" diarrhea will not cure an infection, fix an inflammatory process, improve an ischemic gut, or correct a functional issue.  Medical evaluation is recommended appropriate to the duration of your symptoms, associations (bleeding, weight loss, pain, vomiting), as well as your other medical co-morbidities.  Call your doctor please and get checked especially if persistent or progressive.

Yes: Absolutely. Viruses can also cause a regional gastroenteritis with only some symptoms though bloody diarrhea usually makes me think of salmonella or another invasive organism.

Consult physician: Since your symptoms have been going on for a week now, it is appropriate to consult a doctor who will help you determine the cause. It may still be a viral enteritis, but if you have seen no improvement, you need to have this checked out.

Blood diarrhea: Those findings suggest infectious diarrhea.  You need to consult your physician and have a stool examination and culture.

Seek help: The concerning part of your history is the dizziness.  If you are having significant amounts of loose stool/diarrhea and limited oral intake, it's possible that your are dehydrated with low blood pressure.  This could all be from a bothersome viral infection but hard to say in this forum.  I would encourage you too seek in-person help, as you may need at least some intravenous fluids.

Gastroenteritis ?: Assuming you haven't left the country or been eating raw meats, it is likely you have food poisoning or perhaps a viral gastroenteritis. I would go to your GP or GI doctor if choice and have your stool checked. For this acute if a presentation, food or virus seems most likely. Start yourself on the BRAT diet - bananas, rice, Apple, tea. To improve your loose stools and avoid dairy for a few days

? infectious ?: My first thought with this history would be an infectious diarrhea like salmonella or shigella. There are other possibilities but I would want to know this first before jumping to an invasive procedure.
