I would recommend: you contact her pediatrician to discuss and possibly have an exam if it continues. Watch for vomiting, fever, abdominal pain or blood in the stool. Is anyone else ill? Has she eaten any different foods? Traveled? These are all questions her doctor will want to know the answers to help figure out what's wrong.

Possibly: Black watery stools can be blood from high up in the bowel.  Many possibilities such as ulcer or crohn's disease.  For this he needs to see a gastroenterologist.

Be examined: with a stool analysis to sort out the cause of your diarrhea. A history of infectious contact, travel, fast food or recent use so antibiotics may help. Go to the ER!: Black coffee grounds in the stool or in vomiting are signs of fairly recent bleeding, usually in the upper digestive tract. Until the cause is determined, it should be treated as an emergency. You should go to the emergency room immediately. If you are too weak or lightheaded, do not try to drive, call for an ambulance. Diarrhea: Dark, tarry stools can be worrisome. Diarrhea with nausea over 4 days see MD, over 3 episodes per day. What was your colonoscopy like at 50? If abdominal pain or cramping involved or left lower quadrant pain diverticular disease could be to blame if pain see MD ASAP. Diarrhea: Hi. Diarrhea signifies a problem. If it persists, see your doc. It can lead to dehydration, so be sure to drink plenty (things like Gatorade are good, but at least get plenty of water). Dark can be due to blood from the upper GI tract or from green leafy veggies, so may or may not be relevant. "Coffee grounds" appearance only matters in barf, where blood in stomach acid, then barfed, looks like

Coffee does that.: One of the side effects of caffeine intake is increased bowel motility. If your intestines are moving the food you eat too quickly through your large bowel, the large bowel does not have enough time to absorb water from your stools, so it leaves the body as diarrhea. The quickest fix would be to reduce your caffeine intake, and eat more fiber in the form of fruits and vegetables.
