Take to pediatrician: Usually treatment is from 12 months and up; each situation is different so please take her/him to doc. Itches a lot too. Can use over the counter Benadryl (diphenhydramine) cream and zinc-destiny

Allergies to sperm: It is very possible to be allergic to a specific man's sperm and semen. Pretreatment with benadryl or other allergy med can help, but it would be best to use a condom so that there is no allergic reaction to the sperm/semen. Repeated allergic reactions can become worse and worse and even lead to anaphylaxis.

Diaper rash cream: There are many diaper creams on the market.  An affordable one is triple paste.  Your pediatrician might have samples.  A pricier brand is mustela and there are 2 diaper rash creams in that line:  vitamin barrier cream and stelactiv.  In conjunction with a diaper cream, you should have more frequent diaper changes and use water only to clean the diaper area.

Rash treatment: Do not combine vaseline and powder as it will clog skin pores and cause more problems. You can use creams.

No: If you know that it is a yeast infection, then seek treatment from your pediatrician. Baby powder is irrelevant.

can you put desitin (zinc oxide diaper cream) cream over top of nystop powder?

Accepted Answer

OK: Desitin (zinc oxide diaper cream) is a barrier cream (zinc oxide) and Nystop is a anti-fungal powder.  For anti-fungals to work they need to be placed on the skin directly --as you have done. The desitin (zinc oxide diaper cream) will just 'seal out moisture' --so not a bad idea.

Treat For Fungus: You may have a fungal skin infection called Tinea Cruris, aka Jock Itch. Warm/moist conditions in this area allow for fungal growth. Recommend good hygiene, bathing once or twice daily; thorough drying of area (hair dryer heat if needed). Over-the-counter anti-fungal cream (Lotrimin, Tinactin, (tolnaftate) Monistat) twice daily is needed to clear infection. See a doctor if not responding after 2-3 weeks of use

will the nurse possibly put me in diapers while i'm sleeping/sedated from the medication if i refuse to use a catheter?

May cancel : If the safety of a patient requires monitoring of urine output during a procedure, i would cancel the procedure rather than place the patient at risk. If it does not, then enjoy your diaper.Only the physician/anesthesiologist can decide the need.
