my doc is worried i have ms im getting a mri tomorrow on the code sheet it says headaches? will they still look for  of ms thinking its just headaches

Yes, they will: check for white matter lesions on all brain MRIs no matter what the reason for the exam is.  However, if MS is suspected, they may add special sequences to help detect the MS lesions, so be sure to tell the MRI technologist and the registration person that your doctor is looking for MS.

Multiple possibiliti: It could be sinus related but more information is needed to make a diagnosis. Have a doctor look in your mouth, ears, and nose, and do a neurological exam, to help make the diagnosis.

Primary or secondary: Headaches are classified as primary or secondary. Primary headaches do not have an organic cause. They are discrete physiological disorders that are not associated with any other illness or pathology.
There are about 200 different types of headaches and each is treated individually.

Re-assess: There may well be a discoverable trigger for your headaches, and you may find answers with a visit to your dentist.  Possible causes might include jaw or TMJ issues, dental issues on left side, but could wonder about sinus or neck problems also.

Usually benign: Pseudopapilledema, or optic disc drusen as it is also known, is optic disc swelling that simulates some features of papilledema (caused by increased intracranial pressure) but is secondary to an underlying, usually benign, process. Not enough info: Headaches can be a nonspecific symptom. Best person to assess would be someone who  can take a good history, perform a thorough neurologic exam and be able to order and interpret the appropriate diagnostic studies, if indicated.

Chiari malformation: Yes anything that can raise intracranial pressure may do it including cough.

Headaches: Steve, best to google the local university hospitals in your area for their headache clinic.  This is a subspecialty for some neurologists who work only with headache patients.  Source of headaches can be VERY difficult to sort out the cause.  Best of luck with this.  Dr R
