Vomiting cycles.: Cyclic vomiting syndrome (cvs) gets its name from the pattern of vomiting experienced by patients suffering from this condition. Cvs is characterized by 1-2 days of frequent intense vomiting, followed by several weeks with no symptoms. This is in contrast to "chronic" vomiting, where a patient experiences nausea and vomiting almost daily, 1-2 times a day. Diagnosis is by a patient's history.

The : The most common symptoms of gastro esophageal reflux in infants and children are:
â€¢	frequent or recurrent vomiting.
â€¢	frequent or persistent cough or wheezing.
â€¢	refusing to eat or difficulty eating and swallowing  gagging with feeding).
â€¢	heartburn, gas, abdominal pain, or episodes offrequent crying and fussiness.
Certain dietary triggers also may contribute to gerd, including such as overeating and drinking carbonated beverages. Your daughterâ€™s diagnosis gerd may also be caused by a gastrointestinal virus that is causing her symptoms of both vomiting and diarrhea.  Please follow up with her primary care physician for a more detailed assessment of her symptom history and her growth.

Call your doctor: I would recommend that your daughter be rechecked. Your note doesn’t say whether or not she was treated with anything or if it was viral. I’m also not sure of how many days ago she was last seen. That information would factor in on making a decision. It doesn’t sound like you need an emergency room visit unless she develops difficulty breathing or high fever.

Your : Your physician and surgeon should have reviewed the pros and cons of a cholecystectomy now versus waiting for worsening symptoms. There is always a possibility of another source, but when a well known cause of upper abdominal pain is identified, additional work up is unlikely to identify a reason not to remove the gallbladder. Removal of the gallbladder poses the least amount of risk when it is not inflamed (cholecystitis) and if the stones are small, there is an ongoing risk of pancreatitis as long as the gallbladder and stones remain.

A full history, physical exam, and studies have been performed by your physician; i recommend following your surgeon's advice or seeking another opinion. A laparoscopic cholecystectomy is easier to recover from than an open procedure or pancreatitis.

Possibly bile.: Green coloration of the vomit could be from the breakdown of food in the stomach, depending on what was eaten. However, the presence of yellow or green bile in the vomit, a fluid made by the liver, can cause this. This is called bilious emesis. Often, depending on the age group, it is caused by blockage of the intestine, causing a backup leading to vomiting. See your doctor for evaluation.
