Not true: Obesity increases the risk for these medical problems. If you exercise regularly and you watch your weight sitting will cause no problems.

it'd be possible that a diabetic get their nosed pierced?

Not recommended: Where on your nose do you want to pierce?  Are you type i or type ii diabetic?  Is your sugar managed appropriately?  Have you had trouble with infections before?  How long have you been diabetic?  Although the nose is vascular, disinfecting prior to piercing and cleanliness after piercing may be problematic given wet mucosal surfaces on the interior of the nose.  Get your doctor's thoughts.

Two related: diagnoses differing only in intensity.  This adds up to the need for you to change your lifestyle, e.g., diet and exercise, w/guidance from your doc.  50% of USA population is now pre-diabetic or diabetic. High blood sugars: Diabetes is a serious disease in which a person cannot make any or enough insulin to transfer blood sugar into the body's cells. The blood sugar stays in the blood, and starts to leak through the kidneys, into the urine. Meanwhile, without more insulin, the cells in the body can't bring in enough blood sugar to use as fuel. Diabetes damages cells and tissues throughout the body.

Type II Diabetes: is from lifestyle choices, i.e., poor diet w/lots of junk food, lack of exercise, etc.  The body makes insulin but it doesn't get into the cells and we cannon make ATP for energy.  Type I Diabetes is when the pancreas does not make insulin and is typically diagnosed early on in life.
