Okay, let's see...: You DON'T have diabetes but you have tingling in your hands &amp; feet for the 2nd time ever, for how long? An hour? A day? A year? &amp; from there you jump straight to death from diabetic coma. Is that right? It never hurts to check a fasting blood sugar. If it's normal, I think you're safe for now from death by diabetic coma &amp; can go digging for something else to worry about.

Either one: Do you have it in the other hand, or feet? A family history of dm? Then maybe dm.  Do you perform repetitve movements with your wrist?  Or recently have a trauma to your wrist? Do you wake up at night to shake your hand because of pins and needles? Then, maybe carpal tunnel syndrome with median nerve entrapement (pinched nerve) at your wrist.

The most common symptoms of diabetic peripheral neuropathy are pins, needles and a numb sensation.  If the symptoms are very uncomfortable there are medications that may be of benefit.  The neuropathy is not reversible, however good control of blood sugar may help prevent further nerve damage.
