how to estimate your conception to delivery days?

Add 38 weeks : The due date is normally 40 weeks from the first day of the last menstrual period based upon an assumption that ovulation occurs on day 14.  If one knows the date of conception the due date is actually 38 weeks from that day.

i had an uncomplicated vaginal delivery 8 days ago, but today my bleeding stopped. i can still see some blood when i dry the area with toilet paper. should i call my dr or is it normal. ?

Post delivery ?'s: Bleeding that "stops after 8 days" following delivery may be secondary to a clot or debris stuck in the cervical canal,  which should resolve.  If the bleeding resumes, it generally is detectable for a few weeks after delivery.

i am 37 weeks been having cramps and low back pain. i went to labor and delivery 4 days ago i was contracting every 2 to 3 minutes but i wasn't dialating?

False labor: Once you start dilating, you're considered in labor.  After 4 cm, you're considered in active labor.

Very individual: There are so many variables in this situation that no blanket answer exists; delivery/surgery recovery time, clearance by the ob, fatigue-baby demands-hormonal differences, etc.

Depends: Was delivery natural or c/section. If natural one can resume driving when comfortable with walking. Also depends if you car is manual or automatic. If you have a stick do not be in hurry to drive.

would meconium be positive if drugs used within days of delivery?

Probably not: Not sure why the concern. Meconium is tested in addition to the urine to help understand how to treat infants with drug related problems. Honesty with the physician will go a long way to helping.  Better to 'fess-up so the dr doesn't have to guess.  All this information is protected (hippa). It is best not to try to get around the system.

i feel some stretching at my episiotomy site after 50 days of delivery. what can i do to get relief from that.

Use it or lose it.: I assume you have had your 6-week gyn check after having your baby, &have been given the "all clear!" to have sex again. Vaginal tissue is very forgiving, and will stretch and accomodate wonderfully. The problem here is that you now have stitches and a scar where there was once normal vagina. Continue to have sex regularly to "work it out." this will be a matter of time and patience. All is good.

my baby was diagnosed jaundice 2 days after delivery but now hes a month and still has yellow color. his first results were 160 and the dr discharged him?

Pediatrician: If you are not confident in your Pediatrician see another one for a second opinion.

Need to examine: It is not feasible to provide a meaningful opinion without examining the child.  It is imperative that you see his pediatrician. If that does not work, take the boy to the casualty department of a hospital for blood test for bilirubin.

Allergic reaction: Amniotic fluid embolism is a rare condition.It's due to amnionic fluid entering the maternal circulation.This results in a combination of cardiogenic shock, respiratory failure and a coagulation disorder causing blood clots or bleeding.Although most cases occur during or shortly after delivery,on rare occasions it has occurred 48 hours after delivery due to a delayed allergic reaction to the fluid
