You need: to discuss this with your endoscopist but generally the day before is a bowel prep that includes clear liquids all day and some type of purgative that is at the discretion of your endoscopist. You also usually have to stop any meds that may interfere with your ability to clot in case of polyps or need for biopsy; again that is preference of your endoscopist

No: Prep h is a decent lubricant but has no other real benefit and certainly does not reduce body fat.

Accepted Answer

Yes but why?: Prep h contains astringents which help shrink swollen tissues, and a lubricant--helpful with irritated anal tissues but not appropriate to use elsewhere. Try something made for the area that irritates you rather than possibly introducing something harmful.

Two options: An undercut on complete crown  is defined as any irregularities in the wall of a prepared tooth that prevent the withdrawal or seating of a wax pattern or casting. Too small a taper may lead to unwanted undercuts; too large will no longer be retentive for the crown.
1 taper the prep enough to eliminate the undercuts.
2. Block the undercuts in the lab during the waxing phase.

Nothing specific: Eat well 1-2 d prior (red meat and/or dark leafy greens good choices), hydrate well shortly before donation appointment. Continue to hydrate and eat well for 1-2 d after. Return cycle feels a little cool, other than that and using pheresis machine, not too much different feeling than 'regular' donation. Thanks!!

Liquids and laxative: On the before the colonoscopy, you will be on a liquid diet all day and either drink an electrolyte solution or take a series of tablets-both of which will induce diarrhea. The prep usually takes 3 to 4 hours to run its course.

Constipation: You may have constipation and hemorrhoids .For constipation need fluids  about 2 liters /day and high fiber, greens, avocado, strawberries, brown rice, beans.  May also consider Miralax.  Regarding hemorrhoids, softer movements may help and Anusol which is prescription  may decrease inflammation. Since you are 36 having rectal bleeding consider colonoscopy. F/u/ w/ MD

What kind of: renogram?  Different types include nuclear medicine, CT scan, and standard intravenous urogram.

You can have clear: Liquids the day before unless advised otherwise. I tell my pts to drink a lot of fluids with the prep to keep flushing the colon. You can also have broth chick/beef and jello (avoid red). Solid food is not allowed. Its worth controlling your hunger for one day than to have to repeat the procedure if not adequately prepped.

What are you asking?: Are you asking for an alternative colon screening modality--there are several (fecal dna testing, ct colonography, air contrast barium enema plus sigmoidoscopy, etc.). Any look at the colon will however require a preparation, but the only colon test that permits therapeutics through the entire colon (e.g. Removal of detected polyps) rather than just a diagnostic look, is in fact a colonoscopy.
