can 10 days of doxycycline use cause dark spots on lips? how do i get rid of them?doxycycline treatment is finished. wait for them to go away?

Possibly...: Doxycycline can cause photosensitivity, i.e. more prone to sunburn and other effects of sunlight. If you are prone to get freckles, which often darken in sunlight, that might be the problem here -- i.e. freckles more prominent as a result of doxycycline. This is only a guess. If that's it, the spots should lighten soon. If they do not, see a doctor, preferably a dermatologist.

1-dry lips.
2-sun exposure.
3-hormonal imbalances
4-dark spots of lips may also be indicative of a bigger problem, such as

peutz-jegher's syndrome
 bad lipstick for womans.

can be "freckles" associated with a colon problem

Sun Exposure: Dark spots that have recently developed on the upper lip are usually due to sun exposure.  They include lentigines, ephilids, and melanoma. 

Also, certain medications may increase the number, intensity, and distribution of the dark spots.

Routine use of a broad spectrum sunscreen will reduce the appearance of these lesions.

Listen to advice: skin pigment changes are not simply removed, especially those on the face. Get a medical exam to make sure there is no underlying medical condition causing this lip pigmentation.

Peutz-Jeghers Synd?: Dark brown spots on the lips may be the first manifestation of peutz-jehgers syndrome. While the spots are benign, the dangerous association is with polyps in the gastrointestinal tract that can become cancerous. A family history may help sort out the diagnosis. Lip biting, chapped lips and licking will not cause these melanotic macules.See a dermatologist, and have a colonoscopy.

Fordyce spots on lip: Fordyce spots on the lip are a normal anatomic finding. I would advise against treatment. However, if you desire cosmetic removal ablative co2 laser or electrodesiccation would help.
