Likely normal: Irregular spotting with depo-provera is a common side effect, but bleeding after sex can also be a sign of other problems, including cervical cancer. See your doctor to make sure and make sure to get regular pelvic exams and pap smears.

i have an irritated dry throat and only cough when it's tickly. this morning my mucus was blood stained and had a red and dark spot in it. is it serio?

Irritated dry throat: May be from rhinitis nasal congestion/ inflammation , from dryness in air,warm dry heat. Put vasoline, to moisturize, on the  inside tip of nose in AM and PM, gargle with salt water3x a day ,suck on lemondrops.  Drinkg 2.5-3.5 liter /day water /gatorade to be hydrated. I do not think it is serious, but do f/u with doctor /urgent care this week

URI: It sounds like you may be coming down with an upper respiratory tract infection (the sore throat) and that you have bronchitis (the rusty colored mucus). This may have to run its course but you could see your doc if it's chronic.

Need to be examined: The tonsils are very irregular in texture and appearance, and even variations in mucosal color. So, sometimes what you think is abnormal is really not. I examine a lot of young people with concerns like yours and usually it is not anything to worry about. However, get checked.

Dr. can check throat: Throat discomfort can be from a strep throat infection (antibiotics are needed), a cold or influenza (antibiotics usually not used), or from some other cause such as allergies or irritants. Usually, a person sees the doctor if the throat is bothersome, recurrent, or doesn't go away quickly (mainly to check for strep throat). Throat lozenges and Tylenol or Motrin can temporarily lessen pain.

ive had a sore throat for 7 weeks. 4 weeks ago i had white spots on my tonsils. i also have had green mucus. its not strep throat. this happened immediately after i kissed someone new. a dr. on here said mono but i thought mono took months to show?

Can be tested: While it is true mono will take months to show, your "immediate" label is confusing. It would suggest an allergic response rather than a disease which would take a day or more at least. For it to last this long suggests you now have mono. The condition can be confirmed by blood tests.
