the veins in my hands, arms and feet are becoming darker and protruding more. chest x-ray/blood work/endoscopy were normal. should i be concerned?

No: Prominent veins are not a cause for concern. For good health - Have a diet rich in fresh vegetables, fruits, whole grains, low fat milk and milk products, nuts, beans, legumes, lentils and small amounts of lean meats. Avoid saturated fats. Exercise at least 150 minutes/week and increase the intensity of exercise gradually. Do not use tobacco, alcohol, weed or street drugs in any form. 
Practice safe sex. 
Get HPV vaccine.

what is the difference between x-ray and c-arm ?

A c-arm: is a piece of xray equipment used primarily for fluoroscopic imaging during surgical, orthopedic, critical care, and emergency care procedures. It is shaped roughly like a large "C", hence the name.  Xray is the type of radiation used by a c-arm and other radiographic equipment to generate an image.

i had 10 xray images today done on my shoulder and arm for my pain. does this amount of xray in one day considered dangerous.  i am really worried?

: X-ray radiation can cause DNA mutations which may lead to cancer. X-rays have a slightly increased risk of cancer in the long term. Although the benefits of information are usually the reason it was ordered and would be considered more helpful than the side effects.

if an iv catheter broke off in your arm would you be able to see it on an xray?

Accepted Answer

Catheter: whether something is visible on X-ray depends on what its made of. Often the catheter contains radio opaque material so it can be seen.

pinching pain in left arm every now and again had a heart x ray said it was ok it's not agony just comes and goes should i worry about heart ?

Probably not if: your heart evaluation was OK. More likely to be musculoskeletal or from your cervical spine. Ask your health care provider for further evaluation and guidance.

i knocked my arm below the elbow hard 3 weeks ago. i can use the arm but when i twist my arm i get a shooting pain in the arm. do i need an x-ray?

Yes: If it is still painful, it is recommended to get an xray at this point.  This could be a subtle radial head/neck fracture near the elbow.

a friend ran into my arm and after x-ray i was told i sprained my elbow. after three weeks i have severe pain when i straighten my arm. is this normal?

No: Be re examined and decide on further imaging as indicated. Physiotherapy may be a consideration. All the best.

my x-ray shows no fractures. so why am i unable to straighten my arm?

Immobilization: The loss of full range of motion of a joint typically is caused by not moving the joint (for example, if a joint has been immobilized in a cast) for a long time, or by pathology within the joint (i.e., a loose body) causing pain or physically blocking the motion of the joint.  See your doctor to get more details.  Often physical therapy can restore motion to the joint.

can you tell me in three year i have gotten x-ray of chest, arm and knee, should i be concerned?

Probably not: Ct scans provide radiation dose 100--250 times higher than a chest x-ray. .Ct scans use far more radiation than conventional x-rays and  estimated responsible for 70% of medical radiation. Increased cancer risk associated. There is no way to detoxify radiation. CT scan has to be really indicated and there should be no other  way of making diagnosis Benefit vs. risk should be weighed.

went to c doc about upper left arm pain had x ray found nothing i am still in pain can u advise ?

Could be anything: from simple contusion or angina.  Consult with your doctor again.
