See a Dermatologist.: First of all, the cause should be determined. Repeated rubbing or licking the area around the lips should be avoided. Increased activity of melanocyte stimulating hormone, may lead to production of increased number of melanocytes(pigments responsible for normal darkening of skin) in certain areas of skin, making it darker. Consult a dermatologist. Vitamin a ; c, usually help skin.
