hi, for some time during lockdown there was a dark pigmentation on my hands.. just on my two knuckles and it disappeared so i assumed it was the reaction from the different hand sanitizers. but now it has come back, should i be worried?

Often hormonal: Pigmentation occurs from the substance melanin, which with light activation also makes people tan.  Knuckle hyper pigmentation can occur with physiological aging; inflammation from burns, acne; hormonal changes such as pregnancy or menopause. When generalized it can be of concern to the patient but is not a functional problem that leads to any concern.

They are sun related: Pigmentated spots on the hands are sually related to sun exposure and can be treated by a variety of means such as intense pulse light therapy, laser, or liquid nitrogen. The use of sunscreen and avoidance of extended sun exposure is recommended.

Age Spots: Actually there is very little to comment on here about your troubles. This surely sounds like 'liver' spots or 'age' spots. I would consult with a dermatologist who can actually see what you mean by 'pigmentation'.  In general there is little to do for these spots.

Hydroquinolone 2%: Hyperpigmentation on the skin can be treated kn a variety of ways. A dermatologist can be consulted for effective treatments. Hydroquinolone 2% topical cream is a common treatment and can be found over the counter. Results can be seen usually in 4-6 weeks.

i am experiencing  wrist pain sensitivity .  skin pigmentation,  thinning  and extreme burning up the arm from an  steroid injection ( many more side effects) my whole body is effected at this point .what is going on from this and what can i do ?

Steroids: Some typical side effects are sensitivity, skin pigmentation changes and thinning of the skin around the injection site.  The burning sensation up the arm would not be typical.  Some people do get some systemic effects from the steroid.  You should call your doctor if concerned.

Sunscreen: If a one's hands are tanned, and he doesn't like the natural tanned appearance, he can use  sunscreen on his hands whenever he is outdoors. Over time, his hands will become less tanned.  Some people retain their tanned color for a couple of years, even if protected from the sun... That's just the way nature is. One can also visit a dermatologist for lightening cream, if very unhappy about the tan.

i would say that the longer past the use of ecstacy the more you will feel normal.  Coming off of ecsatcy is not easy for some people. The diffuse overuse of your seratonin stores may feel like a horrible depression that can last a few days.
But, the most common problem on ecstacy is dehydration and that may be what you are seeing in your skin.

Hyperpigmentation: See your dermatologist for the best medicines for sensitive skin.  Most patients can tolerate some version of hydroquinone to lighten dark spots, but there are great alternatives for those who cant, such as azeleic acid, kojic acid, and other brighteners.
