can iron deficiency can result in dark circles under eyes?

Accepted Answer

Maybe: If you are severely anemic, you might be pale, in which case places where the skin is wrinkled would look darker.  But other than that, i can't see a direct relationship between iron deficiency and dark circles under the eyes.  (have you lost a lot of weight?  Are you getting enough sleep?  Has your thyroid been checked?  There are several things that might make you have dark circles).

my 3 yr old has very dark circles under eyes,doctors keep saying it's nothing. what can i do? could she be deficient? she eats and sleeps well.

Dark circles: This very well could be normal.  Children have thinner skin than adults so the blood vessels will show through giving a darker appearance .  Often this darker skin can run though families or be a sign of allergies.

Nystagmus: If the eyes jump when you look to the extreme right or left, that can be normal.  If they jump up or down, this is not normal and generally represents a neurologic disease.  With congenital poor vision, a searching type nystagmus can develop.  If it is a new onset, you should seek medical attention as a stroke can cause it or a neurologic disease.

Allergies/dry eyes: try using 'tear drops.'could be allergies--try an anti allergy drop--pataday/patanol.

No: Vitamins are trace elements and are needed in very small amounts usually supplied with an average diet 
vitamin deficiency is relatively rare and I am not aware of muscle twitching  being an important symptom.Anxiety is a more likely cause , !

Vitamin d: you mightvesntcto get your doctor to check vitamin d and ca level to make sure. Lead poisoning doesn't do that
