Arm Veins: It sounds like you are developing varicose veins in your arms, these can develop in any part of your body.  Weight loss will definitely help with this and your overall health.

You haven't: developed new veins; they just look different! The venous/vein system is very susceptible to changes in blood volume, and when the volume is reduced, such as in dehydration, veins can appear more prominent, more deeply colored, etc. From your description, doubt due to trauma. My prediction is that if you pump up the fluids your veins will go back to looking "normal" to you. Good wishes:)

Veins Appear Blue: This is normal.  At least without seeing your skin. But, veins cary blue blood...Or blood that is no longer carrying oxygen.  Blood returns to the heart to be pumped back through the lungs to pick up oxygen.

Blue is the norm for veins.

Liver check: Increased 'blue veins in the stomach' (caput medusa)  could be a sign of liver disease (cirrhosis) so your liver should be checked.

Positional: When you place your arms and legs lower than your heart, they fill and become prominent. When they're above your heart, they collapse and appears as "streaks." Also, when you're well tanned, they're less visible. AS your tan fades, you see them better. Darker veins are NOT a sign of disease!

Pregnant??: You could be pregnant. You should take a test and follow up with a doctor as your symptoms may be from pregnancy.

Not necessarily: Pathological superficial arm veins are not usually flat but are distended and Don't collapse when elevating the arm above the shoulder.  However if the vein pattern is noticeably different in the left arm in comparison to the right arm, consult your physician or a vascular surgeon for evaluation.
