In dentistry...: It refers to how many millimeters of light cured restorative material will harden based on curing light penetration. Limited depth of cure is the reason we often build up fillings in layers to make sure the deeper parts of the filling are fully cured or hardened. Un-cured material in a deep filling can cause pulpal sensitivity post-op so we try to be careful about this.

Muscle misalignment is called strabismus.  Lastly, retina problems in the macula.
