not really: It's not possible to even know you have benign, or any cysts in your liver without some kind of scan (ultrasound, CT, or MRI) or direct visualization by a surgeon. However, the diagnosis of liver cirrhosis can be made with a thorough history, complete physical exam, and laboratory studies without needing a scan at all but it would help to confirm the diagnosis and rule out other causes of symptoms

what is riedels lobe specifically on the left lower lobe of the liver? my boyfriend had an ultrasound and thats what the report says. does it cause splenic cysts as well? both liver and spleen are enlarged. is this something to be worried about?

: Riedel's lobe is a normal part of liver anatomy and is not the cause of any disease including splenic cysts.
Enlarged spleen does warrant investigation.

Trauma to the spleen (laceration) is a surgical emergency that usually requires splenectomy; patients usually can then lead normal lives, with few restrictions. Liver: It is unusual to have problems with your liver and spleen for your liver I would suggest you stay away from fatty foods as this would cause more inflammation

It depends on the: underlying cause.  If you have portal hypertension related to chronic liver disease, you may become jaundiced and develop ascites, and have significant muscle wasting.  But enlarged liver and spleen by themselves will not be terribly physically apparent.

Fatty liver: Fatty liver disease is becoming quite common.   You need to avoid alcohol completely.  One of the most common cause of this disease is related to metabolic syndrome (please look this up - diabetes, overweight, high cholesterol).  Need to optimize the conditions related to metabolic syndrome.  Weight loss, increase exercise, control your blood sugar and cholesterol, decrease carbohydrate intake.

If : If the pain has continued, or if you have vomiting or fever then you should go to the er for an evaluation.  Please go get checked in the er.  It does not appear to me that it is related to your plasma, but could be a different problem.
