See surgeon: A general surgeon or dermatologist can excise the cysts so that they do not recurrently become inflamed.  Squeezing them might increase the possibility of infection.  Warm compresses can bring any infection to the surface and draining.

Mastoid bone: The bone behind that ear is the mastoid bone.  It commonly has many air cells that communicate with the middle ear.  If there is no redness, pain or tenderness to the touch and you ear drum and hearing are normal, it is possible that there may an asymmetry of the size of the mastoid bone.  See an ENT doctor is you are concerned.

Large mass: Without delay, please have someone take you to the nearest Emergency facility. They will help you as much as possible but might also need to discuss your problem with an Ear, Nose, and Throat doctor.

Cyst: Hard to tell. Was it a sebaceous cyst? If so it would have to be removed. If its a lymph node it may need further studies

i had a bump (i think it was a cyst) behind my ear. in the past i've popped them like a pimple. this time i squeezed it and it felt like it popped. but nothing came out. should i be worried about it popping internally? still have a smaller lump?

: If a cyst is infected &amp; filled with pus it has to be drained by a physician or surgeon. If it's not infected but is to be removed it should be excised by a surgeon. I don't think people should pop any pimples,blisters or cysts. Your lesion doesn't appear to be inflamed or infected. If you'd like it removed, consult a surgeon. Otherwise I'd leave it alone unless it enlarges or bothers you.
