There are many reasons to do this and particularly in children in order to get the most accurate refraction.  We usually don't do this in adults although sometimes it is necessary.

Dilated measurement: Children have amazing powers of accomodation, which is the technical term for the ability to use muscular control to alter the focusing power of the eye.  "Cycloplegia" is a chemical induced paralysis of these muscles so the basic power of the eye can be measured.  This is used to help calculate the actual prescription need by the child and also helps in examination of the back of the eye.

ive been using valsartan for hypertension reasons but had to stop because it causes me epididymitis, now i use  atorvastatin and its giving me vivid dreams. is there anything better i can use with less side effects ?
