i cut my thumb palm side at knuckle about a week ago and i cut a nerve, the wound is healing nicely but the left side is numb will the feeling comback?

Probably: After cutting a cutaneous nerve on a thumb or finger, sensation is usually disturbed for quite some time, even if the wound is healing well.  In part, regeneration of nerve at finger/thumb can take months because of the distance from the spinal cord (can be as long as 1 inch per month which is 36 months if you're 6' tall.  Regeneration can be much quicker too.  All depends on nerve injury severity

i cut my hand at work and now my thumb is numb. do i have a nerve damage?

Cannot tell immediat: Local tissue swelling will make you feel numb so it is tough to judge regarding nerve injury. Once the swelling subsides if there is weakness then it might be nerve injury. The one product i like for toes and fingers is called polymem toes and fingers you can just plug this on the area and the dressing itself cleans, takes away pain and heals, dressing can be left in place for 7 days.

It : It sounds as though you have injured the small digital nerve that supplies the side of the index finger that is toward the thumb. It may be that the swelling is compressing the nerve. Most of the time the nerve attempts to re-grow and sensation returns. You should probably see someone to have a decision made about sewing the nerve together. This is microsurgery because the sensory nerve is pretty small.

Needs to be checked: I recommend that you go to the er and get it checked as it is a deep cut and you may need stitches, nerve damage can only be assessed on examination.Whenever you sustain a deep cut in hands there is possibility of nerve damage depending on location.You may need to be treated by a hand surgeon after er assessment.

: The thumb and index finger are innervated by the radial nerve; therefore, one should suspect it's related to the  prior radial nerve damage.  It merits a visit to ones neurologist for an evaluation.

Both!: It will take 6-8 weeks before your scar is fully mature. Gentle hand range of motion exercises and gentle local massage can help. Real up scar tissue and increase flexibility. Physical therapy can be super helpful for this as well - look for a local hand therapist who can help minimize your pain and increase flexibility.

Yes: Yes, I have and it can heal with good wound care.

No: Not personally, although for superficial fingertip laceration, such as from playing guitar, if you push skin edges together and then apply glue just to hold edges together, will work well.  Really not a good idea for deep cuts.

How old is laceratio: If it is recent, and as the current acceptable standard with in 24 hours it should be repaired with associated treatment.If it is old, more than 24 hrs or even 48 hours it is saer to let it heal by secondary intention( by it self with granulation tissue).But if it is complex and involves tendon, nerve etc, .Go to the emergency room immediately.
