You can't....: Unless it is a result of a leg length difference. Then all it takes is a shoe lift in the shorter leg. If it is idiopathic scoliosis ( curve greater than 10 degrees) then it is just a matter of observation. Surgery to straighten curves is not done until the curve is either shown to be progressing 6 deg or more every 6 months or greater than 30 degrees with progression.

Unlikely.: It could be from a bad posture in a growing child, or from lack of full bony development; or in older persons due to wear and tear.

: No. If you are doing weightlifting using good form is very important to prevent injury. However a short duration of lifting with poor form will not cause curvature of the spine. Make sure to use good form and manageable Weights with any exercise.

These changes can be accompanied by deformity such as scoliosis (curvature) or kyphosis (forward flexed posture) or spondylolisthesis (slipped bones).

Pelvis: After the spine is fused the lower spine loses springiness and this focuses increased mechanical forces on the sacroiliac joints (sij) of the pelvis, loosening one or both.  This can result in sciatica.  Radiation of pain to the groin or front of the thigh is characteristic for sij disorder, all as reported in the world medical literature.

Another possibility would be to see an osteopathic physician who can do a full exam & treatment, like an md, but can also do a spinal assessment & treat similar to chiropractors-but more extensive.
