Yes...: Culturelle and align, though both probiotics, have different properties.  Culturelle contains exclusively lactobacillus species of bacteria.  Align has a variety of bacteria with the main component bifidobacterium which has been proven in studies to be a more hardy probiotic species.  Go ahead and make the switch.  Good luck!

What sxs to fix?: Your choice of probiotics may depend on what symptoms you have, ; whether you are on antibiotics. Also, different probiotics work in different ways.  Lactobacillus and acidophilus grow rapidly to crowd out "bad" bacteria, bifidobacter helps reduce "gas", and sacchromyces boulardes retards the growth of clostridum difficile and has the added advantage of being relatively antibiotic resistant.

No: It is just wise to re-evaluate why you are taking it. Pro-biotics are especially helpful after taking antibtiotics to restore friendly bacteria but the composition of one's diet has a much greater effect on the micro-flora of the intestinal tract. Eating 6 equal meals has a beneficial effect. Eating 7 servings of vegetables and and colorful fruits grow the right bacteria.

Probiotics: Yes you can take twice a day
they are expensive so if you do not notice a benefit you should keep the number down.

Sure: Probiotics are just collections of bacteria and the various bacteria do not interact with each other. You can take as many different types as you wish with no negative effects. But there is no evidence that a single probiotic, let alone several at once, cure any specific GI problems. As they are harmless, the only negative effect of taking them is to your pocketbook.

i gave my 4 month old culturelle probiotics for adult  (about half the dose) only to later see its not for use in kids under age 1.  dangerous???

No worries, but...: There are many Lactobacillus types, and various studies have tried amounts of 1-10 billion CFUs (colony forming units) in babies, without seeing any bad side effects. That being said, there is seldom much research that one can find on one particular brand or strain of Lactobacillus use in babies... so no worries, but "user beware".

i had my gallbladder removed a month ago, i am always constipated, now, will culturelle help with that?

Pain Meds?: Are you still taking prescription meds for pain?  Narcotics can worsen constipation.  Either way you want to avoid constipating, high-fat foods and increase the fiber in your diet.  Make sure you are well hydrated or the fiber won't work as well. If diet is not enough, you can add over-the-counter fiber supplements but again, stay hydrated.  F/u with surgeon if not improved to rule out other cause.
