31 m - is a bronchoscopy / chest ct scan with contrast and vq scan good enough to rule out lung cancer or lung problems ?

Lung problem: Ct scan can rule out lung cancer. VQ scan only evaluate for pulmonary embolism. Bronchoscopy evaluates for lung infection and certain intrabronchial lung cancer, but it cannot completely rule out lung cancer. One can still have lung problem (e.g Asthma) with all above test being normal.

Very very mild: You have anatomic emphysema but no functional impairment thus it's very, very mild. If you smoke, please stop. Consider whether you have occupational exposure to toxic fumes? If no to both, you should be checked for alpha-1 antitrypsin deficiency.

male 33, had a bad flu / virus unknown reasons went to doctor later on because of blood spitting, ct scan found nothing, no blootclot in the lungs, chest x-ray done nothing found, what is causing this? i'm not sure anymore. bronchoscopy coming soon?

: Blood in sputum when coughing (hemoptysis) is NOT UNCOMMON in acute bronchitis. I am not sure why bronchoscopy is indicated if chest X-ray and CT were normal unless your blood test results have revealed some hints for certain diseases which require bronchoscopy although CT was negative. Good luck with your next test.

chest xray showed something. ct scan clear. unable to do bronchoscopy today as i couldn't stop gagging. whats next? got to wait a week to see doctor

Don't give up: Clear ct scan (? Of the chest) is generally a good sign, assuming accurate interpretation.  Depending on what was scanned, looking at your neck and watching you swallow may be helpful as well.  Make sure you follow up with your doctor and do not stop until a solution is found.

bronchoscopy done and everything was fine ct scan & chest xray done and i'm still getting light brown mucus in the morning from my throat otorhinolaryngologist on 4.10.2023 soon, feeling lump right side near tonsils everyday only on spit swallowing?

: Post nasal drip may cause morning production of mucus. Allergies are one cause of nasal congestion. Avoid common allergic triggers including dust,mold and pet hair. Rinsing nasal passages with saline is often effective in reducing the symptoms of post nasal drip.

what can a ct lung scan show without contrast? pulomonary embolism not likely but persistent shortness of breath at rest

A few things: Interstitial lung disease and bronchiectasis, sometimes areas of emphysema can be shown. Contrast is usually needed to differentiate lymph nodes from other structures, metastatic disease,, abscess and tumor necrosis as well as pulmonary embolism.

i quit smoking over 15+ years ago but am scheduled for my yearly low dosage ct lung scan. am very anxious. is it likely for a breast mri (which i had 2 mnths ago) show growth(s) on lungs as an incidental finding?

: A breast MRI is done in patients where a digital mammogram coupled with fibrocystic changes may not be conclusive.  This kind of MRI may show lung abnormalities, but proceed with your "annual CT scan" to be as certain as possible about lung manifestations of long term nicotine exposure.

just had my 3rd low dose ct lung cancer scan. one in 2015, 2019 and now 2019. on all three they have noted a solitary 3mm non-calcified nodule within the medial subpleural aspect of the lingula, no pulmonary mass, nodule is stable and unchanged?

Lung nodule: Features of lesions that are likely non-cancerous : size&lt;3cm, smooth, round, calcified, age&lt;50, non-smoker etc. But it does need to be monitored for any changes. Feel free to discuss it personally with a physician and share the complete report of CT. Good luck

due to positive anti-vgkc dr. ordered a ct lung scan to rule out sclc or thymona. ct found a 5mm nodule. should i be worry for sclc n ask for testing?

Here is what I would: Your doctor did a test which may not have been indicated. But now thta he has done it AND FOUND SOMETHING WORRISOME TO YOU, HE/SHE MUST COUNSEL YOU AND GUIDE YOU FURTHER. EXCESSIVE TESTING LEADS TO MORE PROBLEMS WHICH LEADS TO MORE TESTING. IN ORDER TO BREAK THE CYCLE, I WOULD MONITOR WITHOUT FURTHER TESTING RIGHT NOW. BUT A REPEAT CT SCAN(OR CHEST X-RAY) IN 6 MONTHS FROM NOW,MAY BE USEFUL .
