CSF protein: An elevated CSF protein cannot be taken out of context without knowing the cell count and glucose.  Overall, the CSF protein does increase somewhat with age and in diabetics.

Need more info: All laboratory results need to be interpreted in the clinical context and the doctor who ordered the tests is usually in the best position to do that. Talk to the doctor who ordered the tests. Having said that, why was this procedure/test done? The protein is slightly elevated but that by itself is not diagnostic of any illness.

Probably OK: That's a barely abnormal protein level. If it's the only abnormal finding in your CSF, probably everything is OK. But double check with your doctor.

: Nucl cell 1mg, is it a typo? If it is nucl cell 1/microL, the CSF is normal, neurosyphilis is less likely.

CSF: Some experts consider CSF protein levels to be normal if the value is equal to or below your age in years. I don't think in your case there is a reason to worry. Other CSF components are important as well. Check with your physician to see if there is any reasons to worry. Hope you feel well soon.

i had yellow fluid dripping from my left nostril 5-6 times in 3 years. i had it tested for 'csf sugar and protein levels' as recommended by an ent doctor. results: csf-sugar at 37.5 mg/dl and csf-protein at 9660 mg/dl. what could be the cause?

: These are abnormal findings and should be interpreted with other findings. Best that you have the ordering doc explain these to you

Spinal tap: CSF is cerebrospinal fluid which is obtained through a lumbar puncture or spinal tap. It would be sent for culture to check for bacterial vs. viral or aseptic meningitis. Depending on the organism  being cultured for it can take a few days to weeks for a result

Many causes: CSF protein results can be high in many conditions.  It is best to interpret the results in the context of all the other results of CSF fluid analysis.  Some causes are viral meningitis, demyelinatinfg diseases, diabetes, brain abscess, syphillis, brain tumor, alcoholism, and epilepsy

Not of much concern: Why did you have an lp?  Slightly low igg is not of much importance by itself.  It would be prudent to the discus all of the results with your doctor as the context is important in interpreting lab results.
