Conjunctivitis?: Conjunctivitis can be either viral or bacterial, it is difficult sometimes to differentiate between the two. Both are very contagious and are given to you by a carrier.

Eye Pain: If you can ask your eyeMD what is the cause of the infection, it would help. For now, ibuprofen or acetominophen if ok with your PCP will help. Topical drops can help too depending on the reason for the pain.
