why does it mean if my body is craving orange juice?

Craving sweets: You are probably just craving something sweet.  Orange juice has a lot of sugar.  Way too much sugar.  I do not recommend drinking any fruit juice.  Eating fruit is healthy but drinking them is not.  It takes a lot of oranges to make a glass of juice and you don't need that much sugar.  Try to drink milk and water and eat fruit.  Avoid other sweet drinks like pop and gatorade as well.

oranges vs juice?: If this is just a preference, like enjoying chocolate more than vanilla, it doesn't mean anything. More information would be needed if the issue is more complicated.

Orange juice: Probably because you like it but a gallon a day is far too much. 
Have you given any thought to why you take so much OJ? 
Are you having to urinate several times a day?

I suggest that you take your orange juice no more than twice a day (glass full, not a gallon) and if you are thirsty take water.

Frequent urination from too much liquid is not good for you!

Accepted Answer

Not particularly: Fluids and rest are great for colds.  If you like orange juice, go ahead.  It can upset the stomach if too much is taken in due to the acidic nature of the juice.  It is a good form of vitamins especially vitamin c.  It may or may not help your cold, but if you think it does, have at it.  The craving?  Be careful.  Lots of sugar in oj.  Water is good & take vit c tablets for the same sans sugar!

?: If you're wondering if you're pregnant, there's no good way to know until you miss a period and have a positive pregnancy test.  Any symptoms you get before missing a period are unlikely to be from pregnancy.

Check a test: You can check a pregnancy test. If it's negative, wait to see if you have your period. If you don't, check it again.

Many reasons: People crave food for many reasons, but salt and fat, which describes cheese, are two of the ingredients that humans seem to like.  If you are stressed, certain foods are comfort foods as well.  Because cheese is relatively calorie dense, it is probably not the best choice.  See your primary care provider for more information.

Blood sugar?: Sounds like one of a few things - anxiety or dehydration ( which were cured by time) or hypoglycemia (which was cured by the sugar).   There are a few other less likely things down the list.  You should eat, sleep and exercise regularly.  If this is recurrent or you actually lose consciousness as a result of one of these episodes you might want to see someone.

i'm pregnant (12+3 weeks), and my cravings are citrus (oranges, lemon, kiwi), i eat a lot of it everyday. could too much vitamin c harm the fetus?

Accepted Answer

Possibly yes: There is a theoretical (not proven) risk of miscarriage and fetal issues with too much vitamin C.  If all you are eating is citrus fruits, please consider eating a more well rounded diet.  If you are eating a few fruits a day along with other foods, you should be ok!
