Speculation: With the limited info, here is one (amongst many) possibilities: a lumbar or sacral nerve root could be inflamed (for various reasons). Raising intra-abdominal pressure when defecating causes pressure on the nerve, increasing pain messages traveling ultimately to your brain. Pelvic disease (not nerve disease) may do likewise.

Too hard to tell.: These symptoms may not be related to each other, but the cramps and numbness may. My first inclination would be to look at issues related to your spine, but i would certainly see your primary physician for an evaluation.

Referred: Most likely there are referred symptoms from the network of nerves surrounding the rectal area when the rectum is stretched or stimulated. If there are no other problems you're aware of it may not be necessary to investigate further, but if you have continued concerns, consult a proctologist or colorectal surgeon for advice.

Possibly Sciatica: Have your doctor look at your low back and maybe order an MRI to see whats going on.

Likely unrelated: 3rd trimester pregnancy can put pressure n the colon especially when the enlarging head is downward - that can cause feeling need to poop.  The thigh pain is likely unrelated but may be a form of sciatica from lower back strain from the pregnancy.  Your Dr or a good Physical therapist can recommend some gentle stretches for back &amp; thigh Adequate fluids &amp; fiber are important for bowels.

Low muscle tone: This is probably the more concerning of the symptoms mentioned. If this is really happening you deserve to see a doctor who can perform a neuromuscular exam and rule out a systemic cause for low muscle tone.

my left upper mid-thigh cramps when i have the urge to have a bowel movement, and, when i wipe myself clean. why is this? i have spine issues in my c3 through c7, with slipped discs. can this be the issue?

: There is no causal relationship between your CERVICAL spine problem and the current leg symptom. Muscle cramp alone is rarely caused by a nerve problem. Medication side effect, electrolyte imbalance, dehydration, physical deconditioning are common causes of cramp. Take care.

Possibility: If the symptoms are temporally related it is possible that your symptoms are related to scar tissue caused by your surgery but this is only one possibility.  It would be uncommon for you to have scarring on bowels after a routine c-section.

Nocturnal leg cramps: This may be nocturnal leg cramps. The best treatment for this is quinine, but now the fda does not allow quinine to be used for this. It is very effective for this, does have side effects, but has never had formal testing. There are a lot of medicines we have learned to use which it never had formal fda testing. Unfortunately this is one we can't use anymore. Available treatment is now stretchingmaintain electrolyte balance.
