Possibilities...: Many, many things are possible in life, so the real question is what is likely. One reason to get a doctor's help is to treat the likely causes while watching out for the many, many, rarer but possible things in life. That's just the way life is. Ear or jaw symptoms can be from allergies, infections; problems in the middle ear, the eustachian tubes, the nose or throat, in the TMJ (jaw joint), etc.

Pharyngitis: The most common cause is a viral infection. Usually, sore throat resolves (one week) on its own with at-home care. However, 2 month is too long for symptoms to persist. 
Rec.: see your pcp for evaluation and possible ENT referral.

hello! ive had hypertension since 14. no physician has been able to find out why since bw, 24 hour urine, and renal ultrasound is normal. i sometimes shiver at night while my face feels hot, palpitations, crackling when swallowing. thyroid possibly?

: Most hypertension is eventually labeled as "essential" which is the medical term for of unknown cause. The kidney and other workups are routine since the kidney plays a role in blood pressure &amp; many young kids this is the origin. I wouldn't lose sleep looking for a cause. You can always have a thyroid or other issue as a coincidence, but I wouldn't bet on it being related.

Need to examine: It is not feasible to provide a meaningful opinion without additional history, physical examination and may be some tests. It would be prudent to see a doctor, preferably an ENT doctor.

Ear noises: If examination of your ears by your physician or otolaryngologist reveals clear canals and no abnormalities of the ear drum, I believe that crackling noises on swallowing are due to motion of small muscles or structures in the canal or middle ear and the symptom is insignificant.

i have a headache vomiting nausea, stiff sore neck and sore when i swallow my lungs are sore too! my ears are crackling when i swallow! fatigue too?

Meninges: Stiff neck with nausea and vomiting and fever  could be a sign of meningitis. Call your dr now.

i have had a crackling noise when i swallow and also a moracalike noise everytime i take a step. i was wondering what might be causing this?

Next dr visit: It's common to hear the eustachian tubes when opening or when you try to make it happen.  This is the cracking sound you are describing.  If you aren't in pain, the next time you see your doctor bring it up so they make sure things all check out!  Hope this helps!

Ear cracking: Likely   fluid build up in ear after the cold. When you swallow during/post infection you have constriction of the eustachian tube ( normally it should open)  a tube that runs from the back of the throat to the middle ear  or it can be clogged by tissue swelling or discharge. The opening or attempt to open in a suboptimal microenvironment likely results in cracking. Try zyrtec (cetirizine) ,f/u wtih doctor

i have permanent extremely inflamed inferior turbinates (due an operation), does this explain why my ears always make crackling noises when i swallow?

Maybe: If you have chronic nasal congestion this might explain it. I am not sure why an operation would cause permanently inflamed turbinates. The condition that usually causes cracking is the retention  of fluid in the eustachian tube..The end is usually inflamed from the lymph  tissue irritation and then this causes closure. You need more info from your ent.
