Depends: Even if not infected, an imbalance in vaginal ph can cause odor. The antibiotic Metronidazole works well. So does clindamycin. They both will re-establih the normal bacterial balance in the vagina and help eliminate odor.

About 24 - 48 hrs: Prednisone is not usually prescribed for infection. If it is done in that context, i suggest you do not stop it without informing your doctor.

Please: let your parents know about your possible urinary tract infection. Antibiotics are the tx and you will need a prescription from your doctor for this. Home remedies won't cure an UTI.

Infection?: I am not sure about the information regarding the infection. How does it relate to the concern for pregnancy? If you had unprotected sex as you know you can get pregnant. Are you trying to ask if the antibiotics affect birth control pills -the answer to that is it may depend on the antibiotic and the birth control medication

Viral infection: Often times this can be caused by a viral infection.  It should definitely be watched to see if it comes down on it's own.  If not, further testing incuding an ultrasound should be done to make sure nothing is blocked, like the gallblader tubes.

Incyst on the best..: If there's a pocket of pus in there, the first step is to get it out and then, in most cases, use antibiotics for a few days. If that doesn't work or if it heals then recurs, surgery is in order at some point. Sometimes, if caught very early antibiotics alone can work.However the cause is still there (a tiny tunnel of skin) that can cause a recurrence. The surgery, while not pleasant, is not risky

Danger: The infection can spread like wildfire. Steroids suppress the immune system, so infectious that normally would not be serious can become very dangerous.
Prevention is critical. Wash your hands. Be careful of your hygiene. Avoid contact with sick people.
