Tonsil stone?: A frequent cause for this type of symptom is a collection of debris or food particles in the small pockets of the tonsils.  These are known as tonsil stones and can be associated with bad breathe.  If there is a stone present, then try to dislodge it with a q-tip or water pick.  These are not dangerous, but more of a nuisance.  If the symptom persists, then it would be best to consult and ENT doc.

had appendectomy 4 days ago uvula was elongated during intubation.. have mucus stuck in  throat that i cannot cough up making me nauseous help ?

Get checked: Intubation can inflame the airways and sometimes cause infection. I would call the doctor/hospital for a check up. If worsening symptoms going to the hospital emergency room would be indicated. Good luck

A Pediatric: Exam is appropriate. If your md suggests an xray, that seems appropriate, too. Don't delay...This would be considered urgent. It would be best not to offer food or drink until your child's medical condition becomes clearer.

flu left 2 weeks ago, sore throat when swallowing for 2 weeks. slight cough and lots of phlegm stuck in throat. could this be cancer? very worried

Extremely unlikely: This is far more likely to be allergic or a chronic viral sinusitis. Try an over the counter antihistamine (like loratidine) and see if it improves. If not, visit your doctor, but cancer rarely if ever presents with these symptoms. Hope this helps!

Lung problems: Sounds like an episode of acute bronchitis. If it lasts that long then something underlying is going on. Please see a lung specialist if not already done to get imaging and further diagnostic tests. There are several lung conditions that need to be evaluated.

my throat is dry but i drink a lot of water each day, its hard to eat food and feels like a gag, it also causes me to cough somewhat violently, why?

Swallow tube issue: The door to the stomach entrance is mainly a fold of tissue with a circular muscle pulling it tight like a purse string. The stomach produces acids &amp; it's muscles squeeze the food during processing. When the door does not close completely, stomach acid back washes &amp; irritates the swallow tube. It can cause serious sores/pain.Caffeine &amp; nicotine can prevent door closure.

See your doctor: There are many things that can cause the sensation of something stuck in the throat including post-nasal drip, allergies, acid reflux as well as an actual foreign body or food stuck in the back of the throat.  It is best to see your primary care physician or ENT for an evaluation.
