Generally no: The directions for use of theraflu is for children over 12 years old. That being said it is safe for your doctor to instruct any patient over 4 years old to take the medication if they see fit. Generally, yes...: Generally, one can take Ibuprofen and theraflu, but one must read the ingredients on the labels to be sure he is not doubling up on an ingredient. Theraflu contains acetominophen (tylenol) as one of the ingredients. If unsure, one can ask the pharmacist at the drugstore.

No: These OTC meds both contain a decongestant and acetaminophen. Taking both can be dangerous.

These OTC combination medications are not very effective 
and will not make you get better 1 day sooner than taking nothing.  Your best bet is to take Tylenol(acetaminophen) for pain or fever and a 12 hour nasal decongestant spray like Afrin for nasal congestion, follow the directions on label.

Yes you can: Theraflu does not contain medications like NSAIDS, Non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs. Therefore you may take medications such as ibuprofen for additional relief of pain or fevers.

Accepted Answer

They can: Many over-the-counter cold and flu medications contain antihistamines.  We used to believe that asthmatics should avoid antihistamines but this is no longer true.  
Use caution when taking any multi-ingredient cough/cold/flu medications; especially if taking other medications.  It is easy to take too much of common ingredients like acetaminophen.
If in doubt, ask your doctor or pharmacist.

Maybe: But: these are both drugs that address symptoms;nothing here to make you better.I'd suggest choosing one ;added to rest, fluids, and TLC from your mom.
