See answer: Faciak flushing is a common side effect of steroids. This reaction is more common in women and is seen into up to 40% percent of patients. This can begin within a few hours of the injection and generally lasts only for a few days and on occasion longer depending how long the steroid remains in your system. No specific treatment is warranted.

had a cortisone shot for shoulder pain and now 10 days late. is it possible cortisone shot caused missed period?

Cortisone shot: Usually not, especially if they injected the shot directly into the shoulder joint itself.  If that is the case then the shoulder joint itself is encapsulated and the steroid stays right in the joint space.  I would take a pregnancy test.  Make sure and doing first thing in the morning as it is a more accurate test than later in the day.  Good luck.

Slows healing: Cortisone injections in the shoulder decrease the inflammation or arthritis or bursitis and tendinitis. This is good for pain relief and allowing for exercises. The side effects are occasional infections and increase tendon injury, because pain protects.

Yes: Paradoxically patients can have a flare following an injection of a cortisone like compound.   I am sorry but I do not have a good explanation for this and if it happens once likely to occur again in my experience.

Few symptoms: Pain and stiffness could be simply a manifestation of the underlying problem for which the shoulder was injected. The symptoms could also be a reaction to the shot. Joint infections do occur but are rare. The symptoms of infection are joint swelling, warmth, redness, and increased pain. If anything feels worse than before the shot, call the doctor who injected your shoulder.

i had a cortisone shot for a shoulder injury two weeks ago. in the meantime i developed acne and shingles. how long will the effects of the shot last and can i get my immune system stronger in any way?

Shingles, acne: Corticosteroid ("cortisone") injected into a joint stays in the joint and has no effect on the immune system. Your acne and shingles are not due to the shot. If you haven't seen your doctor for the shingles, don't assume the diagnosis on your own. Valacyclovir or acyclovir will clear it up faster. Good luck.

Reaction to : Could be a reaction to the preservative in the numbing medicine (typically Lidocaine or some type); generally it's not from the steroid itself. But i would discuss with your physician.

Unusual: I'm not sure, in 30 years never had these symptoms. Maybe an allergy to the medication. Don't take it again until you find out.
