Get help for this: Ptsd can be very limiting in your life, yet help is available.  Psychiatrists, psychologists, and other therapists have ways of working with you.  Sometimes medications help with certain symptoms.  Psychotherapy (both individual and group) can be extremely helpful and freeing.  Emdr and cognitive processing therapy can assist you in moving through what has happened, and getting to the other side.

Counseling and meds: Psychotherapy and some pain management and relaxation skills would be helpful, as may some antidepressant medications for the short term at least.  Pain medications can at times exacerbate depressive symptoms, so learning alternate methods can be helpful.  Definitely talk to someone to help you navigate through the symptoms of PTSD.

The Body keeps the Score by van der Kolk is a good book about PTSD but may be difficult to read.  Peace.

Complex PTSD: Complex PTSD is a proposed diagnosis to be added to the medical diagnostic system to cover individuals who have had chronic trauma and whose resulting symptoms are different or in addition to typical PTSD.  For example chronic trauma may cause more damage to self-concept, and it may predispose people to more complex and challenging issues with anxiety etc.  Good question!
