Not uncommon: With progression of COPD such weaknesses do occur. He may want to enroll in a pulmonary rehab program (see your physician). Thsi type of program can improve his endurance and breathing.

Go and get checked: Pain that is not resolved with adequate rest and appears to be persisting requires urgent attention. If you have no shortness of breath or chest pain,
call your PCP to check if you can be seen in the office first thing tomorrow morning . If not, I will recommend you go the nearest ER or urgent care facility. Pain could be from vascular disease or muscle strain, hard to say without proper eval

No: The symptoms sound more like multiple sclerosis than pots.  I'm not saying she has ms. I'm saying, she needs a full workup.

Sensory motor loss : Surgical side effects should not last this long. Either problem is independent of this surgery and just happen to be at post surgical period or related to problem for which surgery was done or surgery itself.  You should talk to your doctor who will have better understanding and may seek help from  neurologist and/or EMG.

See a doc: It is not generally normal to have muscle weakness when you walk unless you are going way beyond your physical capabilities. It would be advisable to see your doctor and tell him/her your symptoms. There may be a solution for it.

See neurologist!: You do not say what kind of docs you have seen and what sort of work-up you have had.  Have you had a MRI of your brain?  Have you seen a neurologist?  Please do both, if either have not been done.  If you have see a neurologist, and not gotten an answer that is clear to you, please get a second or even a third opinion. Glad this appears to be getting better.  Good luck!

You need and exam: Clearly, something has changed in you at least with respect with the strength in one limb and since it hasn't gotten any better over a long period of time you should have it looked it by a doctor.  I am also concerned about the increased serum creatinine....but have you tried drinking water in generous amounts?  Sometimes, a person gets a bit dehyrated and those numbers bump a bit.

Wheelchair bound: If you are permanently wheel chair bound, you will have to make some changes in your diet to adjust to less exercise. By trial and error, you can figure out how many calories you can eat a day to not gain weight if you use a food diary. There are some exercises that can still burn calroies while seated. Talk to a physical therapist for suggestions.

can you have weakness more in one leg making it hard to walk with rheumatoid flare and still feel pain and weakness while on prednisone for a few day?

Accepted Answer

Yes: These symptoms can be from RA .  The weakness can also be due to disk disease, a neck problem related to RA,  a pinched nerve,  as well as other causes.  Make sure you let your rheumatologist know the prednisone is not helping.
