i took the one time dose of azithromicin 3 mos ago; i was still tested positive for chlamydia. why is this? what happened?

Rx fail, reinfection: This isn't rare. 5-10% of people with chlamydia have new positive tests after 3-6 months. That's why retesting is recommended. Either you are reinfected (if sexually active and potentially exposed) or treatment failed, which happens 2-3% of the time with azithromycin. Your current partner(s) need to be tested and treated, and you need re-treatment, probably with doxycycline, not azithro.

i took the one time dose for chlamydia on monday and yesterday i started spotting some brownish discharge and also i'm getting cramps. is that normal?

Give it a few days..: Wait a few days since this could be associated with the infection. It takes a couple of days for the antibiotic to actually work. However if pelvic pain is severe, fever, chills are also present get seen ASAP to check for a more serious infection and possible alternative antibiotics if needed.

my partner said he tested pos for chlamydia and he took a one time dose to cure it...i went to er and they gave me flagyl 2 gram and doxycycline 100mg and a rosefin shot just incase...no results yet but i woudl like to know if flagyl cures chlamydia becau

If : If you cannot finish your course of Doxycycline due to side effects, you should give your doctor a call and let them know before just stopping the medication.  There are other antibiotic options for you depending on your symptoms.  Flagyl in a single dose alone is not recommended to treat chlamydia by itself.

Yes: Yes, shouldn't be a problem.  Some medications can interact with alcohal (eg Bactrim (sulfamethoxazole and trimethoprim) can cause an antabuse-like reaction), but it most likely is out of your system at this point. You should really know/remember the name of any medication that you take.

i taken one time cipro (ciprofloxacin) dose for chlamydia which has caused epididymitis. when will it go back to normal? could it be something else?

MisinformtIon?: This doesn't compute. Ciprofloxacin does not treat chlamydia. Maybe you misunderstood what antibiotic was prescribed -- maybe azithromycin? But a single dose is not usually adequate for epididymitis. If under a doctor's care, check back with him or her; or maybe second option from an infectious diseases or STD specialist. If you're treating yourself, find a doctor ASAP for proper care. Good luck.

if azithromycin 250 is expired on 10/20 can it still be used to treat chlamydia. i have 4 pills to make it a two day dose instead of a one time dose. would it still be effective?

: It will still be effective. Antibiotics retain their activity, with no increased risk of side effects, for several years after the official expiration date -- assuming they have been normally stored (e.g. not exposed to extreme heat, like in a car's glove box). However, you need to take all 4 pills at once, 1 g total. It may be less effective as 2 pills on each of 2 days.

i'm on my 4day of pills and still no bleeding. i skipped one day and i also have sex one time a week. i took for 2 months already. should i be worry?

No: The antibiotic for chlamydia does not affect the cycle.  Having an std can result in breakthrough bleeding.

Test of Cure: You had 3 separate infections, 2 of which were likely sexually transmitted, but the BV is not.  Any one of these infections may not clear on the first treatment, and you should be re-evaluated for "test of cure" to see if you need additional treatment, especially if you had another exposure during or after treatment.  Or, perhaps the bleeding is your menstruation?

Take a test : Don't guess. Take a test. In today's world you do not need to wonder if you are pregnant or not based on symptoms. Pregnancy tests are available at any pharmacy and in minutes you will have your answer. They can detect a pregnancy 7-10 days after conception. The best time to take one is when you miss your period.
