hi. i had sex 3 weeks ago and i'm a week and 2 days late. i've been having constipation for days now and have the symptoms of a period. help me please?

Can do a preg. test: Pregnancy is the most common cause of a missed period. If not pregnant, other causes of a late or missed period include:  excessive weight loss or weight gain, increased exercising, emotional stress, having an illness, traveling, medicines (especially birth control pills), hormonal disorders, etc…  A visit to one’s Ob-Gyn doctor is a good idea if symptoms are persistent, recurring, or worrisome.

Fatigue : So many factors can cause fatigue and body aches. Consider chemicals, cleaning agents, allergens you may be in contact with. Do you drink enough water daily? How's your diet? 5 servings of fresh fruits and vegetables? Are you taking care of yourself with exercise?

Yes, you may: High calcium causes constipation and kidney disease. If you develop kidney disease, your blood pressure could rise and you can get a headache. Avoid dehydration, inactivity, thiazide diuretic. Hypercalcaemia: stones, bones, groans, thrones and psychiatric overtones.

Diet record: trt keeping a diet record of what you are eating.  Look too see if a food makes you better or worse.  Drink fluids.  See your doctor after a week of recording and that may help.

Uncomfortable: But not dangerous unless your constipation is caused by an un-diagnosed problem in your colon. If this is recurrent, at your age you should consider a colonoscopy.

See: your doctor.  Taking laxatives with no results could be a problem.  Worry about an obstruction.  See your doctor to get on a proper schedule

High fiber diet: Rather than medication consider a modification of your diet.Eat lots of fruits and vegetable , nuts, raisins, prunes and dates. Reduce milk and milk products.  Have high fibered foods such as beans and legumes as well as jigh fiber cereals.

No: No this is constipation! a hi fiber diet, 20-25 grams of fiber per day, drink 80-`100 ounces of non caffeinated, non alcoholic fluids daily and increase your fluids if you do strenuous work or exercise. Do not use harsh laxatives.
Excess fiber in the face if inadequate fluids will cause bloating and constipation.

Gas pain: Have a suppositary/ fleets enema. If no significant releif even with significant bowel and gas passage....Seek medical help.

Try oral laxatives : Have you tried laxatives already? Miralax (polyethylene glycol) otc should work well. Enema is unpleasant and is used as last resort. You should also talk to your local doctor on how to regulate your bowel if you are chronically constipated. Taking food rich in fibers or fibers supplement would help.
