See ophthalmologist.: A painful, red eye could be something as serious as acute glaucoma. And that can cause blindness if untreated. (and it could be something as simple as a foreign object in the eye!) I am concerned that your symptoms have occurred suddenly. It is reasonable to go to the emergency room for evaluation if your doctor's office is closed. Good luck. Lgromkomd.

my eyes constantly water, becomes irritable and itchy. bag under the eye has become a dark impression. tried tear duct flushing at n17 hospital and no luck. tried all torbex drops and neither has assisted. please help.

Eye: If you are having watery eye on one side I would  be suspicious for some type of tear duct obstruction.

Saline rinse: Saline rinses to remove dust, a test to check vision and a local antihistamine.

my 8 day old baby has whitish discharge coming out his left eye. what can i do to remedy it? when he was born the same eye was constantly watery the doctor said it was a blocked tear duct and to use cotton wool and saline solution to wipe the eye.

Continue: Sometimes if you roll the tip of a finger over the nose at the inner corner of the eye it will help push out debris. Roll from nose down &amp; out toward the ear.This can also loosen debris caught in the tear duct &amp; flush it. If this persists past 6 mo sometimes an eye doc will need to probe the duct to push it open.

i have a deadly fish allergy, last reaction was alot of itchiness/redness/tearing of the eye and hives across my hands, would an epipen have helped me in this reaction or would it have only helped if my reaction reached an anaphylaxis level?

Reaction: Given severity of reaction and likelyhood of possible second one epipen would be reasonable. Talk to your provider.

Give it some time: You probably caused a corneal abrasion, this will heal overnight.  If tearing persists for more than a day, see a doctor.

Abrasion: Probably your babys finger scratched off a little of the surface epithelium of your cornea, which can lead to pain and tearing.  If you have some lubricating drops you can apply those to comfort the eye.  If it still bothers you by tomorrow, especially if the eye is red or the vision is diminished, then you should have your ophthalmologist.See you.

Yes: Eyelids, connective tissue, extraocular muscles, optic nerve all hold the eye in the socket. The parts of the eye can be damaged by a force that tries to pull the eye from the socket. Are you afraid someone seeks to do this to you? Is this something you are considering? You may need to seek help from the police, a psychiatrist, or both.

Muscle contraction: It is believed that the muscle contractions which occur during yawning squeeze tears out of the lacrimal gland and/or lacrimal sac while yawning.
