It Varies: Racing heartbeats, or palpitations, may come from a wide variety of conditions.  Premature atrial (pacs) or ventricular contractions (pvcs) are common.  Supraventricular tachycardia, atrial fibrillation/flutter, ventricular tachycardia all can cause a rapid pulse.  Sometimes just the normal rhythm going faster than normal may cause a sensation of palpitations.

Overweight?: If she is overweight then this needs to be addressed.  Usually overeating in her age group is a habit and can be broken by finding better activities for her to do and creating new healthier habits.  Keep her moving, interested and engaged and she will probably forget about eating.  If she is underweight she needs evaluation by a pediatrician.

Some of these can be apparent (pain, anemia, dehydration, excessive thyroid, anxiety), and some can be inapparent (excessive sympathetic tone, arrhythmia, inappropriate sinus tachycardia). An ECG or an event monitor might help along w a doc to review all the data.

UTI, OAB, IC, stone: Urinary frequency common symptom of urinary infection or urethritis, overactive bladder, less often from interstitial cystitis, bladder stone, bladder or urethral diverticulum. Urinalysis can demonstrate UTI, or blood in urine. UTI treated with antibiotics, overactive bladder with medication. Blood in urine warrants cystoscopy.

Blood tests to look for diabetes, viral infections, anemia, and other problems might be done. Diabetes can cause this, but other illnesses can cause this also. The doctor will want to know what the person is drinking, when it all started, what happens while sleeping, etc...
