Some deformity still: In adult a wedge vertebral fracture does not reconsitute its original volume with healing. The deformity remains. Healing would mean resolutions of acute symptoms such as pain.

Accepted Answer

No: Loss of disk height is due to disk degeneration. Compression fractures are breaks in the main part of the bone (vertebral body).

Bulging: No, by definition. If it is bulging on mri/imaging then it can not be herniated.

I would consult: An ENT doc or oralmaxillofacial surgeon they can go over all of your options with you.  You can consider nsaids, oral steroids, cortsone injections, arthroscopy or open debridement and even TMJ reconstruction.

Yes, a fusion may be: A treatment option for a vertebral fracture if indicated bya spine surgeon for primarily instability reasons or for neurologic or nerve reasons.  Disc herniations causing primarily leg pain are generally treated without surgey with 10% going to surgery and rarely is a fusion indicated unless instability is present such as with a condition called a spondylolisthesis.

Radiculopathy: The numbness in your feet is caused by radiculopathy (pressure on nerve roots to the btm of feet).  Look up dermatomes on internet to pinpoint which nerves.  Next step is to see an orthopedic or neurosurgeon that specializes in spine surgery for initial exam, history, x-rays and likely mri.  From there you will likely be referred for pt, epidural injections, other treatments before considering sx.

Bone: Bone fracture compression, flexion distraction common spine fracture medical broken back is a bone injury or disruption of normal spine alignment i personally don't use broken back to describe disc abnormalities eons exception the chance fracture is mostly a soft tissue flexion distraction injury.

Take breaks: Anti-inflammatories and breaks are your best bet.  Stretch and walk around between drive segments.

Sc joint: Most sternoclavicular injuries are treat without surgery.  If you are doing well now without symptoms 3 mth after injury i would advance activity as tolerated.
