Safe? No. Risky? Yes: Your physician is prescribing a stimulant whose effects are generally predictable and that has undergone numerous studies required by the fda to ensure its safe use. The  supplements you question are cocktails of stimulant-like chemicals whose effects (and risks) are much less known. They pose definite risks alone, in combination with Ritalin (methylphenidate) your md can not predict risk (heart, stroke, etc.).

Sports supplements: You can find and buy sports supplements at any one of the many stores in your neighborhood. All of the stores would gladly provide bulk supplements. The real questions is "how much do you need and how much can you afford!"

Always take: Supplements with caution.   The above are more stress to kidneys than liver.  Still drink plenty of water and discuss starting these with your PCP.  They know your other meds and your history better

No evidence: I am not aware of studies showing such an association.  Even so, use all supplements in moderation.

Everything has risk: Though i don't see anything illegal, any chemical that alters neurotransmitter levels can be dangerous or carry side effects. As I am not very familiar with a-brain, i can only say "take such things at your own risk." if you are concerned about fatigue or brain fog and the like, there are many other things to consider as well. I'd make an appt to talk with a holistic-minded doc about your concerns.

dha is now a standard supplement in infant formula and prenatal vitamins. does research support the use of this compound in such products?

No need for it: use only if deficient in it.

i have started taking a pre workout supplement for weightlifting and after 2 weeks i have now got eczema on my hands. could it be from  chemicals. ?

Possibly: The way to find out is to stop the supplement and see if the rash improves;.

Anti-depressants: there are many different types of antidepressants, and sometimes these  will help with gastrointestinal symptoms. If you find the Remeron (mirtazapine)  is working but does cause you side effects, contact the prescribing doctor, to see if they recommend switching to a different medication. Good luck.

No one knows: This supplement has never been studied with regard to how it might impact levothyroxine bioavailability. No way to respond to your question with anything to back up an answer.

Why bother?: If you eat fruits and vegetables every day, there is no reason to take this supplement combination. The science does not show that it has any advantage over natural fruits and vegetables and that it may even be unhealthy to take antioxidant supplements that may interfere with your normal immune functioning.  Save your money.
