There's no size: Size cannot tell a doctor whether a cyst needs to be biopsied. A 1 cm breast cyst could be totally benign, or it could be suspicious for cancer. The same is true for a 5cm cyst. Features of the cyst on imaging, the history of the cyst (does it get bigger and smaller), your symptoms, and family history all play a role in deciding whether a biopsy is needed.

Pressing/touching: a breast lump will not fundamentally change what it is, but I suppose the more it is manipulated, the more potential that some tenderness might develop.  At this point, the size doesn't really matter.  Lumps caused by benign processes can be smaller or larger, lumps caused by cancers can be smaller or larger.  You need  to find out what is causing the lump...see your doc for evaluation and imaging

Needs evaluation: All breast masses regardless of how old you are should be promptly seen and evaluated by a doctor. Some can be influenced by hormones others no. You will need to find out what kind of cyst you have.

Unusual: Most benign pathology of breast is related to hormone activity on breast tissue.  In early years activity is on breast tissue resulting in fibroadenomas. Over 30 the effect begins on the ductal system producting partial   blockage with fluid accumulation leading to cysts. When spontaneous  opening in duct occurs the cyst disappears.  Most of the time with age fibrocytic disease is commonplace

Unless : Unless otherwise instructed, you will likely be screened every 6 months to a year with a mammogram. I would follow the doctor's recommendation on this.
On the other hand, has your doctor discussed birth control pills (bcp's) with you. If you are a candidate, then it is something to consider. Bcp's have been shown to drastically reduce breast cysts. Also reducing caffeine has shown a decrease as well. Lastly, limit your salt intake and wear a good supportive bra for comfort.

is dimple on breast always cancer.i m 33 i have one dimple on left breast over a 6mm complex breast cyst. i am asked to have follow up after 6 months.i m scared google just says one thing its bad. i am scared?

: If the cyst is reported as a complex cyst (BI-RAD 4 or 5), you should have biopsy done, especially with the associated dimple. If it is reported as complicated cyst (BI-RAD 3) it is OK to have follow up US in 6 months.

on u/s radiologist said axial lymph nodes are normal. 2nd radiologist said one on rt. has very mild cortical thickening. what could this mean? l. breast cyst benign, right all clear. left over from past infection?

Breast surgeon: I believe that a breast surgeon can advise you best about this cyst and whether further testing or just follow-up examination is needed. He/she can also advise you about whether the axillary lymph nodes appear pathological and should be biopsied. Referral to another specialist may be recommended for advice on this matter.

Yes: A cyst is one of the few masses that can actually go away without intervention.  Never assume a lump is a cyst.  Ultrasound is the most efficient way to determine.
