what does it mean that my colonscopy was stopped due to stricture at sigmoid?

Narrow spot: This means they were unable to progress safely due a narrow area in the sigmoid colon.  This could indicate a sharp turn due to prior abdominal surgery, which made it difficult or colon surgery with a stenotic (narrowed) connection.  Most concerning is that if this is a true stricture we worry about malignancy.  This should be clarified with your treating physician.

Maybe not hemorrhoid: Are you sure you have just hemorrhoids? Pain +/- pruritis (itching) from the rectum that recurs may also indicate anal fissures, proctitis (due to infection, inflammatory bowel disease, radiation therapy, stercoral ulcers, rectal prolapse, trauma, etc.), prctalgia fugax. Depending on your age, risk factors, current medication (aspirin, nsaid's), circumstances, please seek evaluation to be certain.

i 'm having colonoscopy done tomorrow.  i had took the 1stdose of sureprep but didn't have any results yet,2nd dose is due soon should i be worried?

Family history yes: If his father died of colon cancer at 35, he should have a colonoscopy. The guidelines recommend age 40 or 10 years younger than the first degree affected relative, whichever comes first. So technically, your son should have had a colon at 25.

recently had a colonoscopy, but a retcal retroflexion couldn't be done due to pain, could it have missed something? by not having retroflexion done?

Possibilities...: Rectal retroflexion aids in detection of anal fissure, hemorrhoidal bleeding, proctitis (inflamed rectum), anal abscess or fistula, trauma to the anal canal, skin changes around the anus (benign or malignant) or distal proctitis. Discuss with your doctor what his clinical concerns &amp; suspicions were that prompted the colonoscopy, &amp; whether he feels the procedure was enough to address them.

what is prescribed before a lower colonoscopy and upper endoscopy to flush your system out before the procedures? i'm due to have both very soon......

You must: speak to the doctor  or the staff , every one have their own way of bowel prep, if you are not adequately prepared the procedure will be incomplete or will be cancelled. Staff will have written instructions ,eager to give you to get it done right , rather than rescheduling it again. Don't worry you will be fine

The : 1/2 liter peg preps are pretty well tolerated especially movi prep which is the one i use. You need to discuus the prep with your doctor immediately so they know you have issues with the prep and may need an alternative or to reschedule your procedure.

i had a colonoscopy this morning. i weight 134 when i left my house. i just weight again this evening, i am at 138. is this due to the gas from the colonoscopy?

: Body weight tends to fluctuate throughout the day and sometimes between days due to fluid shifts as well as as food intake and bowel movements, and less likely due to procedural effects. Especially for those monitoring their weight or actively managing weight goals, it is best advised to weigh oneself at the same time everyday to track weight, ideally in the morning naked

im due for a colonoscopy but just found out im 3 weeks pregnant will i still be able tohave the procedure many thanks?

Ask the MD: It is unlikely that you will be able to have the colonoscopy with the concomitant pregnancy, but please ask the md who is going to perform the procedure.
