We eat collagen: Animals have collagen. When we eat animals, we eat their collagen. We ourselves are animals and can also make our own collagen from nutrients we gain from what we eat.

No: No food is guaranteed to help maintain normal collagen levels as we age.

Unfortunately, no: There are thousands of supplements advertised to do all sorts of magical remedies. Very few supplements have real research studies to show benefits (but manufacturers make claims, based on theories, animal tests, testimonials, chemical similarities, etc... But not on real research because real research is hard to do and is expensive to do). No supplement is able to help build the desired collagen.

i am having a really bad odour no matter how much i take care of myself. is my body trying to tell me that theres sonething wrong or its because of lthe food i eat. i am a 38yo mom. i am taking collagen and vit. c supplements. what could be wrong?

Body odor?: You don't say the apparent source of the odor. Bad breath? Intestinal gas and feces? Body odor? Vaginal odor? All have different causes, and sometimes no cause can be identified.  If body, breath, etc see your doctor for a general health check-up. If vaginal, get checked for bacterial vaginosis and other genital infecstions.

i recently started taking a collagen drink which has many other vitamins and supplements. i feel great but my concern is that after i take the drink i totally forget about food for the whole day. is this normal or should i be concerned?

: Collagen is the most abundant protein in the body involved in the formation of bone, cartilage, muscles, tendons and even the largest organ in the body, the Skin. Because of it's fiber-like structure it tends to swell and give the sense of fullness. One should pay attention to having enough calories from the major food groups- Carbohydrate, Fat &amp; Protein- before having a collagen drink.

Internet fantasy: There's not even any collagen worth speaking of in hair follicles. I've been looking at them under the microscope for a half a century. This stuff is made up by "natural healing folks" who pretend to be your friends. A few meds can produce hair loss but this isn't due to collagen problems. Further, food choices aren't the key to managing this or the vast majority of other health issues. Cheers.

: Some sources will state that taking vitamin C will boost the effect of Collagen but they do not need to be taken together.
Pharmaceutical companies will make combined Collagen + Vitamin C  product and there are a lot of advertisements about it, just to appeal the customers.
I, myself, do not believe in these supplements.

Collagen: Collagen is a vital part of the connective tissue of the body. It's main component is of protein. Eating a healthy diet with adequate protein would be the most important thing that you can do to insure healthy healing. Recommendations  for specific micronutrients are easy to make by looking at the components of collagen or how it is made, but evidence of specific benefits would be lacking.

You can but: You can overdose on collagen supplement takemn orally and one has to be careful as colagn is not regulated by fda and maximum or minimum dos is not established and not known
so be careful and it can also cause allergic reations often.
