Cold Meds Not Cause: Cold medications would not cause a positive urine drug test.  Do you use medicinal marijuana? If yes, is it from a dispensary or from "the street"? If it's from the street then it may be contaminated by cocaine. Otherwise exposure to cocaine would be the only other reason.

There are rare instances of false positive results but the lab should have a confirmation process in place to protect you from that. Bring your prescription if you have one.

It can be done with a rapid read cup that can be read in 5 min but these have occasional false positives and negatives.  It can be further tested with gas or liquid chromatography and mass spectrometry which are mush better and are nearly never wrong
