Weeks: A very common injury. One I have had myself. Very painful as you know, particularly when sitting down. In my experience, this takes 2-4 weeks to resolve. Heat and anti-inflammatories can help take the edge off.

Structure of coccyx: Coccydynia or tailbone pain can be caused by falling on tailbone or by vaginal childbirth.A lot of individuals have a tailbone the angles forward instead of being straight. An xray of the coccyx would show this. Colonoscopy with scope into rectum anterior to the coccyx might have traumatized these bones. Most of this pain disappears by weeks or months. If pain persists should see orthopedic dr.

Lumbar "faciities"?: Did you mean acute lumbar facet( joint pain)?  If so, this is frustrating to patients since these structural joints can be aggravated without any fall, lifting incident, etc.  Simple things like quickly turning over in bed, getting out of a chair, twisting to do laundry, vacuuming, sweeping mopping, etc. can aggravate these joints. Good thing is that they'll settle down without aggressive measures

Please see your Dr.: In the absence of a temporally related injury, your symptoms are considered red flag signs, meaning they could be due to a more worrisome medical condition. Coccyx injury: I don't believe that a coccyx fracture  would effect height. Injuries to other bones in the spine may cause compression and result in less height. But in this case - the fracture is to a tail bone - so I don't believe that would effect overall height.  Perhaps another HealthTap provider with more knowledge about the spine - will have a more definite answer.

Doughnut pad.: You may need to use a doughnut pad for sitting, top take pressure of the coccyx. Also, if you can take over the counter anti-inflammatory medications, that could be helpful.

Possibly: In the absence of overt trauma, you may have just sprained the ligaments in that area, especially since your pain appears to be mechanical (i.e. Related to motion).  Other possible causes include infections and pinched nerves.  If symptoms do not resolve within a few weeks, you should see a physician for further evaluation.
