Cocaine: If you are being checked for anemia and they will not test for cocaine. However, your anemia may be due to Cocaine use. If the ordering MD has asked for cocaine levels then they will test. Here is a bit of advice - if you want to enjoy your life and live well and long do not use cocaine.

MCV: Stands for 'mean corpuscular volume' and is an estimate of the average size of red blood cells in that specimen.  In and by itself the value has no meaning outside of the total interpretation of the history, physical and other lab values.  Talk to your doctor.

It would be prudent to see your doctor and discuss if you may be depressed. Counter-intuitive as it may seem, exercise may help. Start with low intensity exercise such as walking and gradually increase the intensity as tolerated.

It depends: What is your idea of "accurate"? The lab test results need to be interpreted in the context of the clinical condition. Different tests have different sensitivity, specificity and predictive values.  These characteristic vary with the population under consideration, e.g., the HIV screening tests have different performance when used on drug addicts vs. Observant nuns.

Very reliable: There is a specific technique that miust be followed when doing finger sticks.  If the procedure is properly performed the results are quite reliable.  They will be within about 5% of a simultaneous venous blood test.

Numbers are just...: Numbers are just numbers. Without details and the whole picture, such as why was labwork done and the patient's past medical history, numbers cannot tell much. The ordering doctor, or one's primary care doctor, is the best person to ask about lab results as that person knows the patient's whole picture. Thousands of things: Blood tests literally can test for thousands of issues. The nomal routine tests check for anemia, high or low white blood cell and platelet counts, electrolytes, calcium, liver and kidney function and possible cholesterol and other lipids.

Depends on type: Some routine blood tests may make us think there is something else going on.  Almost no routine result will make a doctor immediately leap to the "cancer" diagnosis, but some things can be strange.  A white blood cell (WBC) count in excess of 200, 000, for instance.  Platelet counts &gt;1, 000, 000.  But for actual cancer diagnosis, those take very specific tests looking for specific markers.

Depends: Alcohol itself can be detected in blood for a few hours after intake.  A urine test for ethyl glcucoronide can be positive for up to five days.  In chronic drinkers, cdt test may be positive for one to two weeks after chronic intake.
