: No. Antibiotics in general can all cause c. diff. Some more than others. There are factors about the patient that makes them more susceptible to c. diff. These factors are being over age 65; weakened immune system such as HIV/AIDS, cancer, organ transplant; being on immunosupressant drugs or previous history of c. diff. The young and healthy rarely get c. diff.

No: In general, Clindamycin does not treat gram-negative bacteria.  E. Coli is gram-negative.

No: Clindamycin is an antibiotic, it will not help with gout. Dietary measures help a lot, including weight loss. There are also medicines to prevent attacks, but none as good as the proper diet, in most cases.

Sorry it won't work: If you really have shingles, what you need is an antiviral medicine, not an antibiotic. Sometimes the shingles become infected since they are damaging the top layer of skin-so in that case an antibiotic might help, although I usually like something 'local' such as bacitracin ointment. You should call your doctor for an antiviral medicine-acyclovir, valacyclovir or famciclovir. Hope you feel better

: I do not find any interaction between clindamycin liquid and carbonated drink and this medication can be taken with foods so I think it is OK to take clindamycin liquid with a soft drink.

Common: There is commonly an entity called antibiotic-induced diarrhea that occurs and is benign.  However, there is also a more serious condition call c. Diff colitis that can occur with certain antibiotics (like clindamycin) due to the killing of all of the bacteria in the colon except for that one particular one.
